Hand Augur Boring Method
As per IS 1892
An auger may be used for boring holes to a depth of about 6 m in soft soil which can stand unsupported, but it may also be used with lining tubes if required. Mechanically operated augers are suitable for gravelly soils or where a large number of holes to be made.
No water shall be added while boring through soft cohesive soils and cohesionless soils above water table.
